Untitled Document

One of the common mistakes in web design that I often notice is “Untitled Document” in the title tag. People simply forget to change it or pay no attention to it. It looks quite silly when a unprofessionally designed website has pages titles “[tag]Untitled Document[/tag]“.

First of all, title tag in HTML is probably the most important tag. The reason for it being is that the keywords in the title tag play a vital role for onsite [tag]search engine optimization[/tag]. Secondly, when your web pages get indexed by the search engines, the listing in the search engines will appear with your title tag in its own title.

Ideally your [tag]title tag[/tag] should contact 3-5 keywords that you are trying to optimize for. I normally use “-” sign to separate them and this worked quite well for my sites so far for the [tag]SEO[/tag].
