One of the common mistakes in web design that I often notice is “Untitled Document” in the title tag. People simply forget to change it or pay no attention to it. It looks quite silly when a unprofessionally designed website has pages titles “Untitled Document“.
First of all, title tag in HTML is probably the most important tag. The reason for it being is that the keywords in the title tag play a vital role for onsite search engine optimization. Secondly, when your web pages get indexed by the search engines, the listing in the search engines will appear with your title tag in its own title.
Ideally your title tag should contact 3-5 keywords that you are trying to optimize for. I normally use “-” sign to separate them and this worked quite well for my sites so far for the SEO.
